What We Are Reading Now!
Are you still excited about your book? If your not why should I be?
Authors don’t get lazy. The same thing you did to create the initial buzz about your book, you need to continue, to keep the fire burning.
If you’re burnt out don’t let your fans or future readers see it. I want you as happy as I am to see me as I am happy to see you.
It works like a marriage, are you willing to put in the effort that it takes to make it work? What if divorce or no more sales were not an option, just a consequence?
Reaction brings action.
Surely you must realize that the effort you put in is what you’ll get back.
Step back and focus,
re-group, re-think and find the energy to keep it going.
Figure out what’s good about what your doing and what’s not working. It’s easier to maintain a buzz than to create one.
The hungry mouth gets fed, how hungry are you?
Learn how to fish you’ll eat for life.
Just my 2 cents,

SCHAE'S STORY: A Woman's Transformation
Also, that while many people preach that God will change someone’s life they really do not believe it to be true. Schae’s Story will also expose the many ways in which love manifests itself in a woman’s life, family love, community-love and most importantly the reciprocal love of God. Developing Smart Marketing Solutions
Before we can discuss marketing solutions, let’s get a clear picture of what marketing really is and the foundation you have to create before you can start the process of marketing. Marketing solutions will cover: the science of buying and selling books; the advertising, promotion, distribution and format of the books. It also covers the art of influencing people with your professional approach to writing and publishing a great book.
Many people confuse marketing with promotions and advertising, when the latter are elements of marketing not the process. At EDC Creations, we spend hours coaching our clients on the fact that marketing takes a dedication to learning, building relationships and establishing reachable goals. Marketing solutions will come from having a vision, a plan and the means to encourage readers to buy their books.
Marketing is the entire process by which you will identify your target audience, anticipate what they need and give the audience solutions and estimate their response. Once you know the audience, you will share your book with readers in a professional, appealing and cost effective way. Marketing is based on developing strong relationships to assist you in networking, advertising, promoting and gaining publicity. All of these fall under the umbrella of marketing. Marketing is the cart and the rest is what you fill it with.
Foundation for Creating Marketing Solutions
1) Write your vision on paper. Decide what it is you want at the end of the day. Brainstorm about ways to get the things you want and put them on paper so you can SEE where it is you really wanting to go. Think about your passions in life, the amount of money you have to invest, why you are really becoming a published author and what will this offer the reading community.
2) Create your marketing message. Your marketing message is a combination of the things that will later create your brand and determine how the reader will view you. It will tell your readers how you can solve their problems, why they should trust you, why they should buy your book and spread the word, also why they should keep supporting you later. The marketing message is the thing that will capture their attention.
Your marketing message is not created to solely tell them who YOU are. The entire marketing message is about telling your readers what your books can do for THEM. Even if it is a fiction book, it can show the reader how to deal with a difficult situation and come out on top. You have to share your unique ideas or style of writing to convey this message.
3) Define and identify who your target audience is and where they can be found. You can not reach all readers and your book is not for everyone. Use research to find those people who would benefit most from having your work in their hands.
4) Define the problems or issues surrounding this target; present your solution. When I say define the problem, I am not getting all political. It can be this simple: teens grow out of board books and children books. They now need books that will introduce them to puberty and peer pressure, the joys and ills of growing up. You can give them the solution by starting a teen series.
5) Present your results to the solution (a quality book) and tell them why they should select your book before any others. You will create wonderful marketing materials to capture their attention and you offer them your wisdom, experience, advice or a means to sheer entertainment in a well edited, properly produced book, at an affordable price.
6) Establish your brand and what it will take to strengthen it. Your brand is the vehicle that will take you to top of the book marketing game. Branding is the process of creating your image, the feelings, relationships, the actions and visual presentations your readers will come to associate with your name and the kind of books you put out. You will sell YOU as an AUTHOR as much as you will sell your message in your books.
7) Work on creating a network of people to help you with your marketing. You will need to create an internal support team, a social networking team, a business team and a publicity team to deliver your marketing message to the readers and publishing houses. You do this by communicating with others what you need, what you want and what you are willing to give to get it. Ask questions, do your research, seek help from the experts, but most of all really make relationships that will benefit you and the readers.
Now that we know what we are doing and have the foundation created to do it. Let’s get down to creating our marketing plan, marketing strategy and establish marketing solutions. The three all go hand in hand, it takes all three to be successful. My area of expertise is Internet Marketing, Promotions and Publicity. My contributions this month will focus primarily on those areas. Keep following the blog for more.

10 Ways to Promote your Books Through the Holidays
We have a few more weeks before Christmas, Kwanzaa, Watch Night and New Years. Bookstores have geared up for holiday shoppers, so no instore events for you to grab at the last minute. Public libraries have geared up for holiday reading events, so no author readings for you to participate in at the last minute. So what do you do? Table selling your books until 2009 or do you take advantage of Holiday Cheer? I say take advantage. Here are 10 ways to do promote your writing through the holidays.

How many more lives will be lost to HIV/AIDS?
It all begins with the look; that initial contact when the eyes speak loud and clear as to what the body craves. Deep, wet, passionate kisses leading to mind blowing orgasms that leaves the body trembling much like a leaf on a tree on the windiest of days. Sex. It's meant to be a beautiful bond, a physically satisfying act between two people, but when not engaged in responsibly, sex can turn ugly, deadly even.
Andre Peters, a man who has it all; the perfect wife and family, and the job of his dreams. From the outside looking in, one would have to ask, What more could he ask for? What he didn't ask for was his secret desires for the same sex; those desires that occasionally lead him astray from his marital vows. But Andre doesn't consider himself gay or bi. He still loves sex with his wife; it’s just every now and again that he craves something different, pleasure he can only find in the arms of another man.
His failure to be honest with his lovers of both genders; his failure to engage in safe sex; his denial of his sexual preference; and his desire to straddle the fence-sleeping with both women and men-leads to a domino effect, destroying lives one HIV infection after another.
In Consequences, readers are taken on a journey into the lives of a down-low husband, his wife, his lovers, and a cast of others who are affected, whether directly or indirectly, by the HIV virus. The story is fiction but the reality of HIV is fact, and the reality is that each year there are thousands of new cases diagnosed-most of those new cases being women of color and minority. It has to end; and it has to end where it begins-with each one of us.

Will Love prevail over just a lay?
Office Affairs by author Caramel Vixen
Allysia Donaldson is a woman who has always known what she wanted professionally. She pursued her dream of owning her own clothing line and is now the CEO of Ample Delights, a company that caters to the thick madames of the world.
At the young age of thirty, Allysia has accomplished a lot but yet she feels a void. As much as she has pursued professionally, she has run away from in her personal life. Davis is a single, hard working father. He lost his wife to cancer.
Even though women are constantly throwing themselves at him, Davis doesn't date. The one woman he wants won't give him the time of day. If Allysia would only open her heart to him, Davis would fill that void in her life.
She may see him as only a delivery guy but if she would only take the time to get to know him she would realize there's so much more to Davis Jackson. Office Affairs is a funny, erotic novella about love and the discovery of self worth!

Saint of the Little Ways
REMEMBER to make a wish before you read the prayer. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. Did you make a wish yet? If you don't make a wish, it won't come true. Don't read until you make that life changing wish! This is your last chance to make a wish!
St. Theresa's Prayer: May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
Now, send this to 12 people you care about within the next 5 minutes. Tell us below some of the things that would make life better for you today. Would it be money, better health or just more wisdom?

This book is EXTRAORDINARY!!!
What a Gift!!!
The gift is not in receiving the book, but getting the message.
This book is truly gorgeous.
The Cover made me run my hand over it because it is just beautifully done, with a strip of vision boards wrapping around it.
As I opened the book I was extremely pleased at the quality of the paper and the awesome images were phenomenal.
OK I Thought…. Is this all beauty and no substance????
That answer is a resounding NO!!!
Joyce has created a FANTASTIC piece of work. The book touches on everything about creating the life you want. She is teaching us how to “picture your outcome and goals”, visually.
She has done an outstanding job breaking all the reasons why and how to create the life you want.
She even has case studies, activity sections, which I call “mind-work”, and areas throughout the book where you fill in the blanks, to help you really visualize what you want. She even has pages in the back to write notes to yourself,
but I could never write in such a beautiful book…. I’ll do post it notes!!!
Joyce really bring the point on that you are responsible for creating your happiness.
I loved her realization system called GRABS
G is for Gratitude
R is for Release and Ask
A is for Acknowledge and Ask
B is for Be and Believe
S is for Share
She also uses different key phases such as
“Like Attracts Like”,
“What ever you’re thinking you’re a attracting”,
“Suspend disbelief”
Pause and think about just those statements alone.
The book is filled with wonderful affirmations and positive creative energy. I found myself day dreaming my “Outcomes”.
Creating your Vision Statements and Vision Board is a Gift to You.
You truly can TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE with VISIONING.
I am working on my Vision Board and I hope it makes her next book!!!
I’m adding a music button to mine!
I am very Grateful to Joyce for her kindness.
Something else I saw in her book that I think is totally awesome is
Created by Jennifer Lee of www.artizancoaching.com
